Standoffs are threaded separators of a specific length that are used to lift one assembly on top of another and are generally used in mounting signs and panels.A standoff system mostly includes barrels, caps, edge-grips, hardware, or grippers. These are typically round or hex and mostly made of aluminum, stainless steel, or brass. Finishing choices for aluminum are anodized (clear, satin silver, black, titanium gray), for steel are warm chrome (nickel), polished chrome, satin chrome, chrome with gold mirror-like surfaces, and satin-brushed (caps with X reflection) for stainless steel. There are different types of stand offs, such as swage, female-female, male-female, male-male, and super-torq. The most common style is those that would need holes for mounting.
